Embassy of India & Diplomatic SOCIETY Magazine: Revealing of the new issue

At the invitation of Gertrud Tauchhammer, publisher of Diplomatic SOCIETY Magazine, and the Indian Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Shambhu S. Kumaran, numerous international guests from the fields of diplomacy, politics, business, culture, and medicine gathered in the „Salon Vier Jahreszeiten“ of the historic Hotel InterContinental Vienna to celebrate the launch of the magazine’s latest issue, which features an extensive focus on India.

After the reception’s moderator, Ambassador emerit. Klaus Wölfer, welcomed the guests, Diplomatic SOCIETY owner Gertrud Tauchhammer addressed the attendees and thanked Ambassador Kumaran and his team for their collaboration and support in creating a focus dedicated to India and its rapidly growing relation with Austria. Subsequently, the hotel’s General Manager Dieter Franke took the stage and pointed out the hotel’s historical significance, not only in the realm of diplomacy. Vocalist Shalaka Gokhale then provided a lovely musical interlude with the song „Ekdantaya Vakratundaya“.

In his address, Ambassador Kumaran emphasized that relations between Austria and India are currently in a „honeymoon phase“ and noted that the India-focused feature in the latest Diplomatic SOCIETY issue further underscores this peak period. Maximilian Hennig, Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, concurred in his own speech, further highlighting the growing interest in cooperation on both sides. He also expressed his gratitude to Diplomatic SOCIETY Magazine for its important work in the realm of diplomacy.

Following the ceremonial unveiling of the magazine – featuring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the cover – a delicious buffet provided by „Hari1090 Restaurant by Kumar’s Kitchen“ was opened, allowing guests to enjoy exquisite Indian cuisine.
