In the framework of the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kazakhstan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Kairat Umarov, invited to a film screening of „Paris Song“ („Amre“), a movie based on the true story of small-town Kazakh singer Amre Kashaubayev, who travelled to Paris to compete in an international singing competition at the 1925 Paris Expo. The audience at the Stadtkino was moved by the touching movie and the portrayal of the beautiful and unlikely friendship between Amre and the American songwriter George Gershwin, whom he met during his trip.
