The Embassy of Viet Nam invited to the Viet Nam Austria Tourism Forum under the motto: “Connecting Destinations, Building Bridges”, an event with the aim to increase touristic connections between both countries.
As H.E. Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang stated in his opening remarks: „The theme of our Forum is „Connecting Destinations, Building Bridges.“ But let us be honest — a bridge is only useful if people actually cross it. We do not want a bridge that exists only on paper, or in PowerPoint presentations. We want a bridge with direct flights, with tour operators selling packages, with Austrian families eating phở in Hà Nội and Vietnamese families eating Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna.“
The means to reach this goal were discussed by the forum’s participants Mai Xuan Liem, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Province, Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Province, Ingrid Zimmermann, representing the Federal Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Manfred Katzenschlager, Managing Director of the Federal Division Tourism and Leisure Industries, Tanja Gruber, Head of Corporate Communications, Austria Tourism, as well as colleagues from the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, Vietnam Airlines, FLC Group, and IMC Krems.
