Society and Egypt: Lecture

H.E. Omar Amer Youssef, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, SOCIETY Magazine represented by Mag. Tanja Tauchhammer, editor in chief and Prof. Dr. Amr Ibrahim Abdelrahman Elatraby, Cultural Counsellor of the Arab Republic of Egypt, invited to the lecture „Metternich, Mohammed Ali and the rise of modern Egypt: Between personal respect and political rivalry“ held by Miroslav Šedivý. Šedivý studied History at the University of Vienna, Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich and the University of Newcastle upon Tyne prior to completing his PhD at Charles University in Prague in 2008. After the interesting lecture, focusing on the intensive political, economic and cultural relations between the Austrian Empire and Egypt in the early 19th century, the guests enjoyed Egyptian delicacies at the Office for Cultural and Educational Relations of Egypt.  Furthermore, Mr. Miroslav Šedivý and Ms. Tanja Tauchhammer received a medal as a thank you for the efforts and cooperation with the Office for Cultural and Educational Relations of the Embassy of Egypt.
