KR Prof. Mag. Gertrud Tauchhammer, honorary Ambassador of Tourism of Uzbekistan and owner of Diplomatic SOCIETY Magazine, together with H.E. Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan hosted an event under the motto “Experience Uzbekistan’s heritage, culture and delicacies” at the beautiful historic Palais Schönborn-Batthyány . In her speech, Ms. Tauchhammer – introduced by the evening’s moderator Dr. Rudolf Thaler, Former Austrian Trade Delegate – spoke about her personal impressions during her travels to Uzbekistan, where she was particularly impressed by the hospitality of the people. Then, Ambassador Ibragimov addressed the guests – among them Vladimir Norov, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and former Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and Orzigul Kozikhonova, Chair of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan – giving an interesting insight into the impressive growth of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan. His speech was followed by words by the Austrian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, H.E. Matthias Radosztics, who pointed out the lively exchange between Uzbekistan and Austria, manifesting in many visits and meetings between high-level representatives of both countries. Last but not least, Kalya Khine from LassUnsReisen introduced the many guests to the wonders of Uzbekistan with a captivating presentation. After the official part, the Embassy offered traditional samsa and plow as well as drinks and the invitees had the chance to discuss their travel plans to Uzbekistan.
