The United States Embassy in Vienna invited a few hundred mostly Austrian guests of various walks of life to joyfully usher in the Semiquincentennial of US independence.
In a celebration on January 15 at Vienna’a Marriott Courtyard Hotel at the Krieau, members of the Austrian army’s Gardemusik and the Vermont military band excelled in bringing good vibes and a real dancing mood to the audience, performing flamboyant Alpine country music and great US disco and soul tunes.
H.E. Ambassador Art Fisher charmingly introduced the event, Ambassador Launsky-Tieffenthal of the Austrian Federal Chancellery was the guest of honor.
Having US musicians participate in the Austrian band and vice versa, gave the event an extra symbolic touch of friendship.
