At Grand Hotel Wien, the Heads of Diplomatic and Permanent Missions of the ASEAN countries in Vienna, H.E. Damos Dumoli Agusman (Indonesia), H.E. Khonepheng Thammavong (Lao PDR), H.E. Ikram Bin Mohammad Ibrahim (Malaysia), H.E. Min Thein (Myanmar), H.E. Evangelina Lourdes A. Bernas (Philippines), Deputy Permanent Representative Jophie Tang (Singapore), H.E. Pattarat Hongtong (Thailand) and H.E. Vu Le Thai Hoang (Viet Nam) together with Diplomatic SOCIETY owner KR Prof. Mag. Gertrud Tauchhammer invited to a festive reception on the occasion of the ASEAN Culture Day 2025.
The numerous international guests were welcomed by the moderator of the evening, Ambassador Dr. Peter Brezovszky, Chief of UNESCO Unit, Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, who then gave the floor the Ambassador of Lao PDR, H.E. Khonepheng Thammavong, who spoke on behalf of the AVC Chairmanship. Then, host and Diplomatic SOCIETY owner KR Prof. Mag. Gertrud Tauchhammer and Ambassador Dr. Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, Head of the International Culture Affairs Section the Austrian Foreign Ministry addressed the guests, pointing out the importance of events like the ASEAN Culture Day. For the ensuing group picture, all participating Ambassadors were called to the stage.
Performers, artists and videos organized by the Embassies of Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam then provided a wonderful cultural touch. Last but not least, the delicious traditional food of all participating countries rounded off the wonderful evening.
